Dhritarashtra said: O Sanjaya, what did my sons and the sons of Pandu do when they gathered on the holy field of Kurukshetra, eager for battle?

Sanjaya said: Seeing the Pandava army arrayed for battle, King Duryodhana approached his teacher Drona and spoke these words.

Therefore all of you, standing at your respective positions in the formation, must protect Bhishma above all else.

Arjuna said: O Infallible One, please draw my chariot between the two armies so that I may see those present here who desire to fight.
